Erving State Forest provides over 1,800 acres for camping, picnicking, and boating on Laurel Lake. Route 2 and Route 63 are part of the Commonwealth’s scenic by-way designation. Bergen Park is one of Denver’s smaller mountain parks at 25 acres. With open grasslands and a mature Ponderosa pine forest, Bergen Park has been a popular picnic spot since 1917 when a striking stone shelter was built in the center of the park.

Numerous opportunities are offered year-round for the public and school groups free of charge. I’ve been camping here before, although it’s been a few years, and it’s just as beautiful as I remembered. This trip was what I hope will become an annual family camping trip with my adult children and their spouses/significant others. The campsites are a good size and there’s nice spacing between. There’s a nice hiking path that I’d been on before, but didn’t have time to get to this trip. Yes, there’s a washboard road – but don’t let that keep you from this special place.

The pool season in Eagle will wrap up on Monday, September 6 for closing day (12pm-4pm).

The lake is part of the Echo Lake Potential Conservation Area and has high biodiversity significance for its rare and globally vulnerable sub-alpine plants, including reflected moonwort, Mingan moonwort and western moonwort. Erving’s geography provides outdoor enthusiasts with several recreational opportunities. Enjoy fishing, hiking, rafting along the Millers River, and rock climbing.

It’s the perfect backdrop for any function you’re planning. The all-new Moon Mountain Disc Golf Course officially opened to the public on Monday, November 4, 2019. The high-alpine, championship-level course features an 18-hole, par 63 at 8072 feet for short pins and 8970 feet for long pins and uses the Score Application for specifics on each hole including distance and PAR. Other offerings include public picnic areas, camping for boaters at Munn’s Ferry, rock climbing at Rose Ledge, and a fishway for springtime viewing of thousands of migrating fish.

All employees are required to attend a 1 to 2-day orientation conducted by regional and area management. Moving forward, McCormack said the district wants to attract even more facility partners. The Mountain Recreation Foundation has been launched to raise private money for facility improvements. But one of the best things about the Mountain Recreation buildings is something the average person may not know — those popular facilities are debt free.

The campsite next to us played their horrible rap music loud up until 10pm, It really ruined our night star gazing by the fire, especially since I HATE rap music. There is no way to just relax and enjoy nature and solitude, this place is SO NOISY. 25 miles south east of Fallon, Nevada on U.S. 50 on the north side of the highway.
